The Official Autobiography of Mark Szymanski

Hello! My name is Mark Szymanski. I am currently a freshman engineering student at the University of Pittsburgh hoping to pursue a degree in the field of computer engineering in the coming semesters. I am 18 years old and I was born and raised here in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I went to Bishop Canevin High School and I still live just outside the city in the borough of Crafton. I commute to Pitt everyday on the bus with my good friend Zach Mell.

During my high school years, I was involved in numerous activities, clubs, and organizations. I was in Student Leadership Council, St. Ignatius Scholars Program, National Honors Society, and many more. I took an advanced course load throughout my high school career as well. By the time I graduated, I had earned 14 credits through the University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne University college in high school programs. It was a challenge, but it has since been worth the hardship, now that I do not have to take those courses in my college years. Overall, I enjoyed my high school years very much. I made a lot of good friends and great memories at Bishop Canevin High School and I will never forget my time there.

Ever since I was a child, I have loved to be active and play sports in my free time. My favorite sport to play is dek hockey and I am on a couple different teams. Throughout my life, I have always had a passion for running around and playing any sort of game. I played baseball for 10 years, soccer for 3 years, flag football for 5 years, dek hockey for 13 years, and I bowled all 4 years in high school. I feel that exercise and playing sports has always been the best way for me to have fun and relieve stress.
